Youth Peace Ambassadors Video messages showcased at Unite 4 Peace Global Broadcast

The “Unite 4 Peace Global Peace Broadcast”, a 48-hour worldwide online peace event, was recently streamed globally, reaching an audience of over 3 billion people. In this global broadcast, Miki Kawamura, intern at the Goi Peace Foundation and founder of the Youth Peace Ambassadors program, introduced the vision and activities of YUMI’s Universe and the Youth Peace Ambassadors.

This special event commemorated the 40th anniversary of Pathways to Peace, an organization that co-established the United Nations’ International Day of Peace. Over the course of two days, 22 regions across the world were connected online, sharing music, stories, and cultural expressions with the aim of helping participants experience and rediscover the peace within themselves.

A Global Connection on the International Day of Peace

On September 21, the International Day of Peace, peace events held in cities such as San Francisco, New York, Geneva, London, and Addis Ababa joined together in a continuous 24-hour global relay.

Every hour, a worldwide “Pause for Peace” invited people to meditate and offer prayers simultaneously. Through this shared moment of silence, individuals around the world experienced a profound sense of connection that transcended national borders, languages, and backgrounds.

Youth Peace Ambassadors Messages Shared Across the Globe

Many audience members shared their inspiration upon witnessing the dedication of youth from diverse cultures working together for a harmonious world.
