Youth Peace Ambassadors Video Messages showcased at 2025 Osaka Expo Flag Ceremony

On October 1, 2025, the completion ceremony for the international project “The World’s Largest Picture” was held at the EXPO Arena Matsuri during the Osaka–Kansai Expo. Centered around the theme of “Life,” this global initiative brings together drawings created by children from around the world, connecting them into one massive artwork representing our shared planet.
As part of the ceremony, May Peace Prevail On Earth International presented the Flag Ceremony, a program in which the flags of nations were carried while participants journeyed across the Earth through video and music. The experience highlighted the beauty of nature and the rich diversity of cultures, offering the audience a warm and reflective moment of unity.
During the event, Miki Kawamura, director of the Youth Peace Ambassadors, took the stage to introduce the peace movement being fostered together with young people around the world. As videos of each continent played, messages of peace from Youth Peace Ambassadors were also screened, filling the venue with a quiet, heartfelt sense of inspiration.
In her Facebook post, Kawamura reflected on the experience:
“As I watched the videos and prayed silently for peace in each country, I felt the entire venue gradually come together as one. We all carry many ‘labels’—being Japanese, being a woman… Sometimes these labels unite us, yet at other times they create divisions between us and others. But the wish for peace is the one thing that excludes no one. It has the power to connect every heart. This realization came to me as prayers from around the world were shared.”
The ceremony became a moment where the audience collectively felt the power of peace, transcending borders, identities, and backgrounds—reminding us that peace begins with the heart of every individual.
