On August 22, 2025, the “Flag Ceremony” was held at the Osaka–Kansai Expo, where peace video messages created by members of the Youth Peace Ambassadors were presented. The theme of this year’s ceremony was: “Experiencing peace beyond words, and connecting through the peace that lives within each of us.”

On the venue’s massive screen, breathtaking landscapes from around the world were displayed alongside peace messages sent by young people from more than 70 countries. Together with Yukie Kakubari from Humming for PEACE, pianist Yuichi Komatsu, and members of the Humming Singers, participants joined in a collective prayer: “May peace prevail on Earth.”

Miki Kawamura, the founder of the Youth Peace Ambassadors, and Rumi, a member of the program, also took the stage to share their reflections and hopes for the movement.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the audience watched the video in silence. However, as the names of countries appeared one by one, the atmosphere began to shift. Visitors naturally started reading the country names aloud together, and in that shared moment, the collective wish for peace grew stronger, filling the venue with a warm sense of unity.

Through the online broadcast, more than 3,000 people from across Japan and around the world joined the prayer simultaneously. It became a symbolic moment where hearts connected as one—transcending borders, languages, and distance.
